Instagram

I got an iPhone for Christmas. I still haven’t decided if it’s the best or worst gift I’ve ever received. On the one hand I have the world at my fingertips no matter where I go. I can check email in the bathroom, in the car or on the mountain (at certain points). On the other hand, I have the world at my fingertips no matter where I go. I can check email in the bathroom, in the car or on the mountain (at certain points). But right now I am having fun with it, especially the instagram app. I love that I can take a picture anywhere and I can even be in the picture. I no longer have to lug my DSLR with me and come home with a shoulder ache. If we are going some place special I will bring it, but for the most part I have my phone and that is good enough. I love being able to capture every day, mundane moments. I can just capture life. If you have the instagram app you can follow me at Joanna585. I would love to see yours too.

Fiery red

I love how her red hair almost looks on fire when in the bright sunlight. I hope when she’s older she’ll love her hair as much as I do.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

At the Zoo.

A couple of cute animals at the zoo. And a baboon and bald eagle too. 😉

Sunny Outakes

I’m calling these my sunny outtakes because in all my previous Christmas sessions we either had cloudy skies, recent rains or storms approaching. But this session was ALL sun. And lots of dappled light. Usually photographers try to avoid this (me included) but sometimes you just have to deal with what mother nature is delivering. This is one of my best friends and her sweet family. Her son is also a dear friend of my son and daughter. I just love watching our kids play together knowing that they will grow up together. It gives me a sense of comfort knowing that they will always be in our lives. Great friends are priceless. Anyway, here are some of my favorites from our session:
