Moving out and on

Yesterday we said goodbye to our house. It was a good home to us for the past six years. Many memories were built in this house. When Greg and I moved in it was just the two of us and our cats, Piewacket and Nancy. Almost six years later we leave as a family of five. So many good memories, like bringing our newborn twins home. I remember when we sat down their carseats for the first time – Greg and I looked at each other and said “now what?” We also brought baby number three into this home. And the amount of laughter and noise that they have filled this house with over the last few years has been deafening and awesome at the same time. Some sad moments too in this house. I remember sitting on the couch with my sister, in her last stage of cancer, watching a documentary on Farrah Fawcett and the breaking news about Michael Jackson. Not really knowing at the time her fate would soon be the same. Seeing her cuddle baby Quinn on the couch – those are memories I will never forget.

But as sad as it is to say goodbye, I know that future is bright and soon we will have another home to build new memories. A new place to lay our fingerprints and fresh walls to color on. And I look forward to that.

Goodbye little house – you have been good to us!
