Prescott, Arizona

On Sunday we took a day trip up to Prescott. The weather was perfect, a little cold and windy, but still very nice. We hung around the square, had lunch at The Palace (a cute little cowboy saloon), took a hike up in the Prescott National forest and walked around Mayer. Mayer is where Greg’s grandmother used to live, so Greg walked us all around the spots that he used to visit when he was a kid. I will say I expected to hear some banjo music in the background as we walked around this little town. It was a bit eerie (for lack of a better word). The hardest and longest part of the day – driving the 1.5 hour drive and hearing “are we there yet?” every.single.minute. It was a fun day though, and today when I loaded the kids in the car for school Kat asked me if we were going to go to the ‘woods’ again today. Not today honey, it’s ALL desert until we go to the beach in July (& you can bet I will be prepared for that long road trip this time. Ear plugs for me).
